Hi Katie! I wonder if you still check this blog.... and I hope this message gets to you!
My name is Cristy Watkins. I lived in Kibwona village in 2007 and conducted my doctoral research there on people's attitudes and behaviors towards forestry resources. I stayed at the Kolping house from January through August. I returned last summer, in fact, and I think I remember Prossi talking of you!! There were lots of researchers and volunteers that came to Kibwona after me, I think.
Anyway, I was doing some research (partly for fun, partly to keep tabs on the goings-on around Kasokwa and Kibwona, and partly because I am still in touch with NACOPRA and am hoping to help fund some projects), and I came across your blog. You referred to "Mama Roddin"-- a woman at the center? I think you are talking about Mama Rodney-- I got to name her baby, so I named him after my uncle! So funny, no one could pronounce the name Rodney.
I also saw an article you wrote about ecotourism, and was hoping we could chat a bit more about your knowledge and opinions of it, particularly in Kasokwa. I just want to keep myself informed!
